Frost nip Superficial cold injury Transient paraesthesia which resolves with rewarming
Chill blains Repeated cold-dry injury Cold sores (esp. face, dorsum hands and feet, pretibial surface)
Trench foot Non-freezing cold-wet injury Pale/cool/Paraesthesia
Cyanotic/cold/oedematous
Erythematous/Dry/Painful (after rewarming)
Frostbite Deep cold injury Numbness
'Clumsiness'
'Chunk of wood' sensation
Anaesthesia
Mottled/Violet/Shiny/Waxy
(esp. hands/feet/nose/ears/penis)
